George Baker is Johannes Bouwens from Holland, a singer, guitarist, and keyboard player. As the leader of the five-member George Baker Selection, he was part of the Dutch invasion of 1970, when such groups as the Tee Set and the Shocking Blue also had U.S. hits. The Baker Selection scored with Little Green Bag (number 21 pop) and Dear Ann (number 93 pop), then disappeared for five years, returning with a third, final hit, Una Paloma Blanca (number one easy listening, number 26 pop, number 33 country), in 1975.
