身兼歌手/创作/吉他手/演员的Rick Springfield，于70年代初期组成ZOOT合唱团在家乡澳洲相当首欢迎。1972年单飞。有着帅气面孔的Rick Springfield也获得过不少影片演出的机会，在1981年畅销影片《General Hospital/综合医院》饰演Noah Drake医生角色才成为家喻户晓的的电视小生。并且他的专集也经常达到多白金的销售量。 在1981年Rick Springfield 凭借一首单曲荣获格莱美单曲奖。1983年的专集《Living In Oz》收录了Top 10单曲Affair Of The Heart，亦再度获得格莱美奖“最佳摇滚男歌手”的提名。Rick Springfield 已经拥有5首Top 10、累计17首Top 40单曲的成就，专辑也缔造出1千8百万张的销售 。
