Jerry Goldsmith在2004年因病过世于比弗利山庄，享年75岁。曾获18次奥斯卡提名，并获波士顿伯克利音乐学院荣誉博士，Jerry Goldsmith将他的一生奉献给电影音乐，被称为电影配乐的巨人，不但由于他擅长带给人们大场面的雄壮音乐，还有他对理想的坚持执着，以及事必躬亲指挥乐团的敬业态度。他留下的不仅是旷世的音乐巨作，更是对音乐不朽的信念与精神。
