No Prayer For The Dying

天下无不散的筵席，任何乐队都会面临人员变动的调整。在一次大规模的巡演之后，吉他手Adrian Smith选择了离开Iron Maiden。让乐队的双吉他瘫了一边，1年后，幸好有前GILLAN乐队和WHITE SPIRIT乐队成员Janick Gers的加盟，随乐队发行了新专辑《No Prayer for the Dying》。虽然专辑中的《Bring Your Daughter...to the Slaughter》被评为Golden Raspberry奖的最差歌曲，但《No Prayer for the Dying》依然成为了Iron Maiden在英国的首张冠军专辑。



在种种不利影响中，乐队在1990年发表专辑《No Prayer For The Dying》。高潮没有延续，这张专辑水准有所回落。而且由于正赶上重金属的低迷时期，乐队担心销量而把歌曲风格处理的更流行了。即没有了史诗般的气势，也没有了一贯的冲劲。虽然其中有几首歌还是满好听的，但是听过实在没能留下深刻印象，因为以前的作品更好。但他们还没有沦落到流行金属，还是Maiden式的重金属。只是他们自身实在高度太高，再加上有前一张的经典作为对比，显得这张水准不佳。
