Up and coming artist Krista uses Hip Hop, R&B, and Rock to tell the story of her life coming up in Brooklyn. Infusing the genres of music together offers up a sound that is both emotionally stunning yet powerful and ferocious.5 k* V2 G- V8 J5 E1 b
Alone Krista has everything it takes to become a success. Her R&B style is a little rough around the edges, more so because the mix on her album puts her just a tad bit to far above the music allowing heavy scrutiny of her raw voice, but its easy to look passed that since there isn't that much room for complaint. Her Rap is tight and thankfully she doesn’t pussyfoot around her feelings spitting some pretty hard lyrics that come at you by surprise but make their mark head on, wish there had been more of that aspect on the album though. The rock portion of her act is a little soft, not really breaking through as much as the more dominating R&B feel and the backing instrumental rock portions do feel a little generic at times. All in all though I was surprised by how much I liked the album. Solid on the lyrical, her style is package ready, and her look manages, like her music, to mix up style to reflect the many facets of her personality. Even though her album hasn’t surfaced yet I am already excited to see what she does next. With all that aside I was a bit disappointed in the PR for this artist. I wont go into to much detail because I don’t think their failure should in any way reflect her efforts but if I didn’t know better I would have felt like I was being harangued by a used car salesman. Let the music do the talking because in that respect it does. Otherwise definitely keep an eye on this artist
